Apartment fire extinguished quickly

Malvern, Arkansas - Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 9:34 a.m., the Malvern Fire Department responded to a call of a possible structure fire at the Marla Square Apartments in the 800 block of Sulphur Springs Road.
Upon arrival there was no smoke or fire visible on the exterior of the apartments. Firefighters made contact with the resident of the apartment who stated that they had extinguished the fire using a multi-purpose fire extinguisher.

Firefighters assisted with ventilating the remaining smoke from the apartment and cleaning up of the dry chemical in the kitchen.
There was no damage to the interior of the apartment and the entire fire was contained to the pan on the stove.
Once everything was checked and cleared, fire department personnel went back into service at 9:53 a.m.
